i remember the longing to be close at all times
whether it was sitting together with touching shoulders
or intertwining fingers when no one was watching
anything we could while keeping them in the dark
whispering sarcastic remarks in each others ear
always knowing what the other is thinking
the excitement and thrill of the secret
it all seems like a distant memory now
i miss you, and i want it all back
