This cute little blonde lady right here is my mother. A little over a year ago my mom woke up in the middle of the night screaming the most terrifying excruciating screams I’ve ever heard. We called the ambulance and even just putting her on the stretcher she was in screaming in agonizing pain and it was the most helpless feeling watching her and not being able to help. The following day the doctors informed her she had stage 4 bone cancer. But after weeks of being in the hospital and doing all kinds of tests, they couldn’t find the main source of the cancer and because of that they could not treat her. They sent her home as a hopeless case. A year ago the doctors sighed and shook their heads and said “it’s such a shame, she’s so young”.
But you know what? My mom is the strongest person I know. She did not accept this news. My mom believes the message of the Bible and she believes the promises God made to us when he said “You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you.” - Exodus 23:25
She came home from the hospital in a great deal of pain, her bones were crumbling inside of her. She was on the highest dose of morphine that they could give her and you know what she did all day every day? She prayed. She prayed and praised God. We all prayed. Two weeks later a friend from our church, who happens to be a successful chemist and nutritionist, told us he concocted a drink for her that could help kill the cancer. It was an all natural drink… it tasted horridly disgusting but guess what? She went to the doctor 2 months later and the doctors were amazed because the cancer had stopped spreading. My mom was no longer in any pain. The doctor told her “Julie, I don’t understand, you should be in horrific pain right now. This is not normal.”
And so she came home again so excited and so blessed and so hopeful. Our whole church was praying for her every day… and in only 6 months the PET scans showed no trace of cancer activity…. Wow. One of her doctors told us “This doesn’t happen. This is impossible. It’s a miracle.” And he wasn’t even a Christian!
From stage 4 bone cancer and being sent home hopeless, we truly believe God healed my mother. God is so good… and if I didn’t have complete faith before, I sure do now. A lot of people in that position would have lost all faith and gotten depressed and accepted the news but my mom didn’t. She knew that God is the Great Physician and Healer and He decides our fate. My mom is a beautiful, strong, and faithful woman and now she has a beautiful testimony that she shares and encourages other people with. I’m so proud of her. I love her so much.
